SDE — AI Platform

Internship · Remote

+

We're hiring an SDE for our AI Platform team to design and ship the systems behind DealPilot. This is a hands-on build role: you'll write production code, stand up data pipelines and APIs, integrate AI and ML components where they earn their place, and stay with what you ship once it's live. You'll work directly with the founding team and technical leads, translating product intent into architecture and shipped software.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, test, and maintain the software systems, services, and applications behind DealPilot
  • Develop and integrate data pipelines, APIs, and machine learning / AI components across assigned projects
  • Translate product requirements into technical designs, implementation plans, and delivery estimates alongside the founding team and technical leads
  • Write clean, well-documented, maintainable code, and take part in code review, testing, and QA
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications across development and production, including troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization
  • Evaluate and recommend the tools, frameworks, models, and technical approaches that fit our roadmap
  • Provide technical guidance and code review support to other engineers, and help set engineering standards across the team

You Might Be a Fit If

  • You have experience building and shipping production software, with meaningful ownership of what you shipped. Interns: substantial project, research, or open-source work we can look at
  • You have strong programming fundamentals in Python and TypeScript, plus experience with modern web or service architectures
  • You've designed and operated data pipelines and APIs, including handling messy, unstructured, real-world data
  • You're willing to work with ML and AI components in production, such as LLM-based systems, retrieval, or document extraction. Deep ML research background not required
  • You're comfortable with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and production monitoring on AWS and GCP

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to lending, private capital, M&A, valuation, or SMB financial operations
  • Experience with document AI — OCR, parsing, extraction from PDFs and scanned files
  • Model evaluation and monitoring practice: measuring quality, catching drift, building guardrails
  • Early-stage or founding-team experience, where scope is broad and process is something you help create

AI Engineer

Internship · Remote

+

We're hiring an AI Engineer to own the modeling side of DealPilot: the models that read financial documents and score credit and deal quality. This is applied work on real, messy data — borrower financials, tax returns, operating metrics — where the output has to hold up in front of a lender. You'll frame the problem, build the dataset, train and evaluate the model, and see it through to production alongside our platform engineers.

What You'll Do

  • Design, train, evaluate, and maintain the machine learning models behind our loan packaging product
  • Build and own the data pipelines that feed those models — ingestion, cleaning, feature engineering, and labeling strategy for messy financial documents
  • Turn ambiguous product and business questions into well-posed modeling problems, with evaluation criteria defined up front
  • Establish rigorous evaluation: baselines, holdouts, error analysis, and monitoring for drift and degradation once models are live
  • Take models to production in partnership with platform engineering — packaging, serving, versioning, and retraining
  • Evaluate and recommend models, frameworks, and technical approaches suited to our roadmap, including when a simpler method beats a larger one
  • Communicate findings and model behavior clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including where a model should not be trusted

You Might Be a Fit If

  • You have experience taking machine learning models from problem framing through to production, with ownership of the results. Interns: substantial project, research, or open-source work we can look at
  • You have strong Python, with fluency in the standard modeling stack (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or equivalent). TypeScript is a plus
  • You have a solid grounding in statistics and ML fundamentals — you can explain why a model works, not just that it scored well
  • You've engineered features from messy, unstructured, real-world data, and built the pipelines that produce them
  • You're rigorous about evaluation: baselines, leakage, error analysis, and honest reporting of what a model can't do

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to lending, credit risk, private capital, M&A, valuation, or SMB financial operations
  • Experience with document AI — OCR, parsing, and extraction from PDFs and scanned files
  • Working knowledge of LLM-based systems: retrieval, structured extraction, fine-tuning, and evaluation of generative output
  • Early-stage or founding-team experience, where scope is broad and process is something you help create

Product Manager

MBA Internship · Remote

+

We're hiring a Product Manager to own product-market fit discovery for DealPilot and ExitEdge: customer interviews, competitive landscape, and the roadmap logic that decides what we build next. You will design the discovery program, run the interviews, synthesize the findings into a point of view, and work directly with the founding team to turn that point of view into a prioritized roadmap.

What You'll Do

  • Design and execute a structured voice of customer program, including sourcing, scheduling, and conducting in-depth interviews with business owners, M&A advisors, exit planners, commercial lenders, and operators
  • Develop and iterate on interview guides grounded in Jobs to-be-done and continuous discovery frameworks
  • Synthesize qualitative findings into a clear, evidence-backed point of view on where the strongest product-market fit signal exists across the MACH-AI suite
  • Identify underserved segments and unmet pain points across our target markets
  • Develop a prioritized product investment thesis that maps market gaps to our existing capabilities and near-term build opportunities
  • Benchmark competitive and adjacent solutions to sharpen our differentiation narrative
  • Translate validated customer needs into a structured product roadmap with clear prioritization rationale and data-driven evidence
  • Work directly with the founding team to pressure-test assumptions and align on what to build, what to defer, and what to kill
  • Apply standard PM frameworks (opportunity solution trees, impact vs. effort scoring, lean canvas) to structure decision-making
  • Track the current state of AI advancements including models, APIs, tooling, and emerging capabilities. Identify technologies that represent credible build or integration opportunities
  • Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude, v0, Replit, or equivalent) to build lightweight prototypes and mockups for use in customer testing sessions
  • Run structured feedback sessions with interview subjects and prospective users, using prototypes as anchors to generate specific, actionable product feedback

You Might Be a Fit If

  • You're a first-year MBA student returning for your second year in the fall, or a recent MBA graduate, with a strong academic record and demonstrated interest in product, technology, or venture
  • You're a strong qualitative researcher who knows how to ask questions that surface insight rather than confirm bias
  • You're comfortable operating in ambiguity with minimal process. Create structure rather than wait for it
  • You have used AI tools seriously and have a genuine point of view on where technology is going

Nice to Have

  • Pre-MBA exposure to M&A, small business finance, commercial lending, or exit planning
  • Coursework or applied experience in product management, design thinking, or entrepreneurship
  • Experience running user research, usability testing, or customer advisory sessions
  • Familiarity with tools like Notion, Figma, Mixpanel, or modern AI coding assistants
